Early 2022, made my first knit cardigan/clothing piece. From a free pattern off of yarnspirations, and made with Caron Cake yarn. Took me 4 skeins, but its my favorite thing to wear around the house.

notes from crafting which are mostly for my own benefit
notes for matt’s sweater:
+2-3″ circumference, shoulders and sleeves stay the same.
sc foundation 56, ch 2
sc2tog at either end on row 45 (and ch1 instead of 2 at start of row), then 2sc on outer end of front panels on row 20
26 rows of bl ribbing, join fl (cast on tail to front right). extra loop to right when building hdc round. increases: 26 -> 30 -> 35 -> 41
grey 36-40 on sleeves
final row: do not ch1, skip 1st stitch, slst into final and skipped stitch before tying off
joining: line up rows instead - may have been a little sloppy :s
arin’s sweater: size s body size m sleeves, 64 row body 45 row sleeves
original pattern: https://www.sewrella.com/free-crochet-cardigan-pattern-everyday-cardigan/
notes for socks: don’t wrap needle past main mark with scrap yarn, 50-row leg, mark last stitch as well as first (once it’s been knitted) in the hem marking row (~30-50g per sock of knitpicks bare eco superwash alpaca on dean and bean sock machine, using their toe-up seamless [pattern])
notes for market bag: modification of [this] old pattern; 12 round 10dc circle, back-loop sc to turn, 5 more rows sc. 10 rows 10-ch lattice (anchor every 5 on starting row). Tc-dc-sc-dc-tc in each ch space. 5 more rows sc. 10-st strap, 76 rows. (5mm hook, double-stranded sock yarn)
notes for blanket: sc foundation, hdc/hd cross until it’s square, 2 rounds of sc weave. fucked the corners but whatever. (9.75lb of caron 1 lb, 5mm hook)
dye references: https://tutorials.knitpicks.com/jacquard-acid-dyes/ https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5ac4eb022971149bb6d709d3/t/5b3e482570a6ad4a13aa69c8/1530808358592/Acid+Dye+Instructions.pdf
roughly 3/4-1 tsp jacquard acid dye per pair for dark colors to cold water, turn on heat to medium then quick rinse socks in hot tap water and add. 3 tsp vinegar per pair once it starts to steam. drop heat to low after another ~15-20 min, turn heat off after another ~10-15. let steep as it cools for a bit before hanging to dry. after fully dry, can be machined washed cold/cold and tumble dried on knit cycle. I used twine tied to the pot handles to suspend the socks so I could keep the size labels on.
toffee was [this] cobbled-together recipe. turned out a little grainy but overall fine.
notes for arm warmers that I wrote on my phone for some reason: 20 row hung hem, 100 row body, 20 row castoff hem. (total: 140. landmarks: 20, 120, 140)
